Passionate About Purpose
God has given each of us a purpose.
(Job 36:5 NIV) God is mighty, but despises no one; he is mighty, and firm in his purpose.
(Proverbs 19:21 NIV) Many are the plans in a person’s heart, but it is the Lord’s purpose that prevails.
(Philippians 2:13 NIV) For it is God who works in you to will and to act in order to fulfill his good purpose.
The purpose of leadership is to equip God’s people.
(Ephesians 4:11-13 NIV) So Christ himself gave the apostles, the prophets, the evangelists, the pastors and teachers, to equip his people for works of service, so that the body of Christ may be built up until we all reach unity in the faith and in the knowledge of the Son of God and become mature, attaining to the whole measure of the fullness of Christ.
My purpose is wrapped up in my gift.
(1 Corinthians 12:4-7 NLT) There are different kinds of spiritual gifts, but the same Spirit is the source of them all. There are different kinds of service, but we serve the same Lord. God works in different ways, but it is the same God who does the work in all of us. A spiritual gift is given to each of us so we can help each other.
Gifted On Purpose
(1 Peter 2:9 NIV) But you are a chosen people, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, a people belonging to God, that you may declare the praises of him who called you out of darkness into his wonderful light.
(1 Corinthians 14:1 NIV) Follow the way of love and eagerly desire spiritual gifts.
A spiritual gift is a special supernatural ability that God gives to each of His children, so that together they can advance His purposes in this world.
1. Discover the gifts God has given me.

(Psalm 139:13-16 NIV) For you created my inmost being; you knit me together in my mother's womb. I praise you because I am fearfully and wonderfully made; your works are wonderful, I know that full well...All the days ordained for me were written in your book before one of them came to be.

2. Embrace the gifts God has given me.

(Romans 12:3-6 NIV) Do not think of yourself more highly than you ought, but rather think of yourself with sober judgment, in accordance with the measure of faith God has given you. Just as each of us has one body with many members, and these members do not all have the same function, so in Christ we who are many form one body, and each member belongs to all the others. We have different gifts...

3. Use the gifts God has given me.

(1 Peter 4:10 NLT) God has given gifts to each of you from his great variety of spiritual gifts. Manage them well so that God’s generosity can flow through you.
