What is Tithing?
A tithe—which just means “tenth”—is defined as the first 10% of a person's income that is to be given back to the local church. Tithing is a principle that is taught throughout the entire Bible.
“Bring the whole tithe into the storehouse, that there may be food in my house. Test me in this...and see if I will not throw open the floodgates of heaven and pour out so much blessing that there will not be room enough to store it.”
Malachi 3:10 NIV
“The generous will prosper; those who refresh others will themselves be refreshed.”
Proverbs 11:25 NLT
Accountability
Financial integrity is of utmost importance in this ministry. We don't take your trust lightly. In fact, we have established specific standards to guarantee that our finances are handled in the best and most honorable way.
Our Board of Trustees ensures that we are good stewards with the money you have entrusted to the church. For all decisions, Trustees are held to a written Conflict of Interest Policy.
All staff salaries are based on a nationally-accepted compensation study conducted by an independent group that monitors church compensations crossing all states and denominations. An Independent Compensation Committee comprised of members from our Board of Trustees determines the salary of our Lead Pastor based on the same study used for every staff member at One Hope Church so that all salaries are equitable.
To ensure our business operations are conducted at the highest standards, and comply with applicable IRS rules and regulations, One Hope Church undergoes a voluntary financial compilation annually conducted by independent Certified Public Accountants. At the conclusion of each compilation, our financial statements are presented in accordance with generally accepted accounting principles.
