A Solid Foundation
“As you come to him, the living Stone—rejected by humans but chosen by God and precious to him— you also, like living stones, are being built into a spiritual house.” 1 Peter 2:4-5 NIV
““Therefore everyone who hears these words of mine and puts them into practice is like a wise man who built his house on the rock. The rain came down, the streams rose, and the winds blew and beat against that house; yet it did not fall, because it had its foundation on the rock. But everyone who hears these words of mine and does not put them into practice is like a foolish man who built his house on sand. The rain came down, the streams rose, and the winds blew and beat against that house, and it fell with a great crash.”” Matthew 7:24-27 NIV
A weak foundation falls apart.
A solid foundation stands strong.
A solid foundation is built by hearing and practicing Biblical values.
1. Jesus is first.
We lift the name of Jesus high in every area of our lives. We believe that everything in our faith begins and ends with Him.
“Jesus told him, “I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one can come to the Father except through me.” John 14:6 NLT
2. Authenticity trumps perfection.
We exemplify authentic faith that inspires honesty, connection, and camaraderie. Being real is most important.
“An honest answer is like a warm hug.” Proverbs 24:26 MSG
3. Life-giving is the only way.
We will be known for what we are for, not what we are against. We lead with grace and enjoy our faith.
“By his death, Jesus opened a new and life-giving way through the curtain into the Most Holy Place.” Hebrews 10:20 NLT
4. Honor above all.
We believe that every person has value and every stage of life has purpose. We work hard to honor
those before us and to inspire everyone following us.
“Love each other with genuine affection, and take delight in honoring each other.” Romans 12:10 NLT
5. Growing is our only option.
We ask questions — always. We endeavor to learn-it-all and never know-it-all. We will change and adapt to reach people because heaven and hell are realities.
“So his master said, ‘Go out into the country lanes and behind the hedges and urge anyone you find to come, so that the house will be full.”
Luke 14:23 NLT
6. We’re all in.
We understand the blessing of tithing, giving and receiving so that the world can see the heart of God. We lead the way by giving to encourage everyone.
“Honor the Lord with your wealth and with the best part of everything you produce. Then he will fill your barns with grain, and your vats will overflow with good wine.” Proverbs 3:9-10 NLT
