Jude
(Romans 15:4 NIV) For everything that was written in the past was written to teach us, so that through the endurance taught in the Scriptures and the encouragement they provide we might have hope.
Jude
(Jude 1:3-4 ESV) "Beloved, although I was very eager to write to you about our common salvation, I found it necessary to write appealing to you to contend for the faith that was once for all delivered to the saints. For certain people have crept in unnoticed who long ago were designated for this condemnation, ungodly people, who pervert the grace of our God into sensuality and deny our only Master and Lord, Jesus Christ."
Jude: Contend or you will compromise.
✓

(Jude 1:11 ESV) “Woe to them! For they walked in the way of Cain and abandoned themselves for the sake of gain to Balaam's error and perished in Korah's rebellion."
Uncompromising
(Jude 1:14-15 ESV) "Behold, the Lord comes with ten thousands of his holy ones, to execute judgment on all and to convict all the ungodly of all their deeds of ungodliness that they have committed in such an ungodly way, and of all the harsh things that ungodly sinners have spoken against him."
1. I remind myself of the consequences.
(Jude 1:5 ESV) "Now I want to remind you, although you once fully knew it, that Jesus, who saved a people out of the land of Egypt, afterward destroyed those who did not believe.”
(1 Corinthians 10:23 NIV84) “Everything is permissible but not everything is beneficial. Everything is permissible but not everything is constructive.”
2. I am careful.
(Jude 1:23 NLT) "There are still others to whom you need to show mercy, but be careful that you aren't contaminated by their sins.”
(1 Thessalonians 5:22 KJV) "Abstain from all appearance of evil."
3. I commune with the Holy Spirit.
(Jude 1:18-21 ESV) "In the last time there will be scoffers, following their own ungodly passions. It is these who cause divisions, worldly people, devoid of the Spirit. But you, beloved, building yourselves up in your most holy faith and praying in the Holy Spirit, keep yourselves in the love of God, waiting for the mercy of our Lord Jesus Christ that leads to eternal life.”
(John 16:7-8 ESV) "It is to your advantage that I go away, for if I do not go away, the Helper will not come to you. But if I go, I will send him to you. And when he comes, he will convict the world concerning sin and righteousness and judgment.”
4. I contend for what’s right.
(Jude 1:3 ESV) "I found it necessary to write appealing to you to contend for the faith that was once for all delivered to the saints."
(Hebrews 12:4 NIV) ”In your struggle against sin, you have not yet resisted to the point of shedding your blood."
