The Church That I See
“Where there is no vision, the people perish.” Proverbs 29:18 KJV
“When people do not accept divine guidance, they run wild.” Proverbs 29:18 NLT
1. Spiritual Journey
“I keep asking that the God of our Lord Jesus Christ, the glorious Father, may give you the Spirit of wisdom and revelation, so that you may know him better. I pray that the eyes of your heart may be enlightened in order that you may know the hope to which he has called you, the riches of his glorious inheritance (way of life) in his holy people.” Ephesians 1:17-18 NIV
Know God — Find Freedom — Discover Purpose — Make A Difference
“Go out into the country... and urge anyone you find to come, so that the house will be full.” Luke 14:23 TLB
2. Practical Path
“However, I consider my life worth nothing to me, if only I may finish the race and complete the task the Lord Jesus has given me.” Acts 20:24 NIV
Worship Services — Small Groups — Next Steps — Serve Teams
“They devoted themselves to the apostles’ teaching and to fellowship, to the breaking of bread and to prayer. Everyone was filled with awe at the many wonders and signs performed by the apostles. All the believers were together and had everything in common. They sold property and possessions to give to anyone who had need. Every day they continued to meet together in the temple courts. They broke bread in their homes and ate together with glad and sincere hearts, praising God and enjoying the favor of all the people. And the Lord added to their number daily those who were being saved.” Acts 2:42-47 NIV
3. Strong Leadership
“The same goes for those who want to be servants in the church: serious, not deceitful, not too free with the bottle, not in it for what they can get out of it. They must be reverent before the mystery of the faith, not using their position to try to run things. Let them prove themselves first. If they show they can do it, take them on. No exceptions are to be made for women—same qualifications: serious, dependable, not sharp- tongued, not overfond of wine. Servants in the church are to be committed to their spouses, attentive to their own children, and diligent in looking after their own affairs. Those who do this servant work will come to be highly respected, a real credit to this Jesus-faith.” 1 Timothy 3:8-13 MSG
Overseers — Pastors — Trustees — Coordinators — Coaches — Team Leaders
4. Financial Integrity
“Since you excel in so many ways—in your faith, your gifted speakers, your knowledge, your enthusiasm, and your love from us —I want you to excel also in this gracious act of giving.” 2 Corinthians 8:7 NLT
Tithing — Offerings — The Gift of Giving — Margin — Generosity — Impact
“We want to avoid any criticism of the way we administer this liberal gift. For we are taking pains to do what is right, not only in the eyes of the Lord but also in the eyes of man.” 2 Corinthians 8:20-21 NIV
The Church That I See
Is a place filled with hope. Where we are helping those who are from God find a life-giving relationship with Christ.
Is reaching the lost. Where we are willing to do anything short of sin to reach the world with Christ. We recognize that our church is for those who aren't here yet.
Is generational. Where grandparents, parents, and children worship together, share life together, and change the world together. No one is washed up and no one is unwanted.
Is breaking down the racial divides in our country. Where we accept each person regardless of their history, heritage, or the color of their skin.
Is a worshipping church. Where we are so passionate about Jesus that we express it outwardly.
Is connected relationally. Where every place we go is a place of worship. No one building defines the boundaries of our church.
Is without borders. We are people who reach into, pray for, and share the gospel with the whole world.
Is seeking the miraculous hand of God. Where we believe that God wants to do miracles of healing, provision, and life change. We believe that His arm is not too short nor His desire to bless and favor us!
Is serving Jesus the Christ an all-knowing, all-powerful, ever-present, and resurrected King!
