(Proverbs 4:7 NIV) “Wisdom is supreme; therefore get wisdom. Though it cost all you have, get understanding.”
(Proverbs 3:3-4 NLT) “Never let loyalty and kindness leave you! Tie them around your neck as a reminder. Write them deep within your heart. Then you will find favor with both God and people, and you will earn a good reputation.”
Favor - approval, support; an act of kindness beyond what is due or usual.
Kindness & loyalty are not feelings.
Kindness & loyalty are actions.
Proverbs 3:3 NLT) “Never let loyalty and kindness leave you! Tie them around your neck as a reminder. Write them deep within your heart.
(Luke 6:32 NLT) “If you love only those who love you, why should you get credit for that? Even sinners love those who love them!”
1. Kindness is serving the person.
(Esther 2:6-7 NLT) “His family had been among those who, with King Jehoiachin of Judah, had been exiled from Jerusalem to Babylon by King Nebuchadnezzar. This man had a very beautiful and lovely young cousin, Hadassah, who was also called Esther. When her father and mother died, Mordecai adopted her into his family and raised her as his own daughter.”
(Esther 2:21-22 NLT) “One day as Mordecai was on duty at the king’s gate, two of the king’s eunuchs, Bigthana and Teresh—who were guards at the door of the king’s private quarters—became angry at King Xerxes and plotted to assassinate him. But Mordecai heard about the plot and gave the information to Queen Esther. She then told the king about it and gave Mordecai credit for the report.“
2. Loyalty is committing to the place.
(Esther 4:14 NLT) “Who knows if perhaps you were made queen for just such a time as this?”
(Acts 17:26 NKJV) “And He has made from one blood every nation of men to dwell on all the face of the earth, and has determined their preappointed times and the boundaries of their dwellings”
3. Kindness and loyalty are upholding the truth.
(Esther 4:13-14 NLT) “Mordecai sent this reply to Esther: “Don’t think for a moment that because you’re in the palace you will escape when all other Jews are killed. If you keep quiet at a time like this, deliverance and relief for the Jews will arise from some other place, but you and your relatives will die. Who knows if perhaps you were made queen for just such a time as this?”
(Esther 7:3 NLT) “Queen Esther replied, “If I have found favor with the king, and if it pleases the king to grant my request, I ask that my life and the lives of my people will be spared.”
(Esther 8:8 NLT) “Now go ahead and send a message to the Jews in the king’s name, telling them whatever you want, and seal it with the king’s signet ring.”
