Praise
A Life Hack is a proverbial truth that simplifies complicated issues.
“These proverbs will give insight to the simple, knowledge and discernment to the
young. Let the wise listen to these proverbs and become even wiser.” Proverbs 1:4-5 NLT
“The path of life leads upward for the wise.” Proverbs 15:24 NLT
✓ Lukewarm
“I know all the things you do, that you are neither hot nor cold. I wish that you were one or the other! But since you are like lukewarm water, neither hot nor cold. I will spit you out of my mouth!” Revelation 3:15, 16 NLT
✓ Negative
“The anger of the LORD burned against them, and he left them...So Miriam was confined outside the camp for seven days, and the people did not move on till she was brought back.” Numbers 12:9,15 NIV
✓ Positive
“Enter his gates with thanksgiving; go into his courts with praise. Give thanks to him and praise his name.” Psalm 100:4 NLT
We enter the presence of God through the power of praise.
Praise is a physical celebration and declaration of what God has done, is doing, or promises to do.
“Praise Him for His mighty acts; Praise Him according to His excellent greatness!” Psalm 150:2 NKJV
“Yet you are holy, enthroned on the praises of Israel.” Psalm 22:3 NLT
1. Praise is a command.
“Let everything that has breath praise the Lord.” Psalm 150:6
“If they kept quiet, the stones along the road would burst into cheers!” Luke 19:40 NLT
2. Praise is in your DNA.
“Through the praise of children and infants you have established a stronghold against your enemies, to silence the foe and the avenger.” Psalm 8:2 NIV
“The leading priests and the teachers of religious law saw these wonderful miracles and heard even the children in the Temple shouting, ‘Praise God for the Son of David.’ But the leaders were indignant. They asked Jesus, ‘Do you hear what these children are saying?” ‘Yes,’ Jesus replied. ‘Haven’t you ever read the Scriptures? For they say, ‘You have taught children and infants to give you praise.’” Matthew 21:15, 16 NLT
3. Praise is a weapon.
““After consulting the people, the king appointed singers to walk ahead of the army, singing to the Lord and praising him for his holy splendor. This is what they sang:“Give thanks to the Lord; his faithful love endures forever!” At the very moment they began to sing and give praise, the Lord caused the armies of Ammon, Moab, and Mount Seir to start fighting among themselves.” 2 Chronicles 20:21, 22 NLT
4. Praise is a chain-breaker.
“Around midnight Paul and Silas were praying and singing hymns to God, and the other prisoners were listening. Suddenly, there was a massive earthquake, and the prison was shaken to its foundations. All the doors immediately flew open, and the chains of every prisoner fell off! Acts 16:25, 26 NLT
“‘Sirs, what must I do to be saved?’ They replied, ‘Believe in the Lord Jesus and you will be saved, along with everyone in your household.’” Acts 16:30, 31 NLT
It’s time to set our language – and our hearts – to praise.
“O God, my heart is fixed, I will sing and give praise, even with my glory... I will praise Thee, O Lord among the people. And I will sing praises unto Thee among the nations.” Psalm 108:1,3 KJV
When life is good, praise is a celebration.
“He who offers a sacrifice of praise and thanksgiving honors Me,” Psalm 50:23 AMP
“No longer will violence be heard in your land, nor ruin or destruction within your borders, but you will call your walls Salvation and your gates Praise.” Isaiah 60:18
When life is uncertain, praise is a sacrifice.
“Praise the Lord, O my soul; all my inmost being, praise His Holy Name.” Psalm 103:1 NIV
When life is painful, praise produces a pearl.
“The twelve gates were twelve pearls, each gate made of a single pearl.” Revelation 21:21 NLT
