(Joshua 1:3-7 NIV) "I will give you every place where you set your foot, as I promised Moses. Your territory will extend from the desert to Lebanon, and from the great river, the Euphrates—all the Hittite country—to the Mediterranean Sea in the west. No one will be able to stand against you all the days of your life. As I was with Moses, so I will be with you; I will never leave you nor forsake you. Be strong and courageous, because you will lead these people to inherit the land I swore to their ancestors to give them. “Be strong and very courageous."
Battles We Face
✓ Inferiority
(2 Corinthians 3:5-6 NASB) "Not that we are adequate in ourselves to consider anything as coming from ourselves, but our adequacy is from God, who also made us adequate as servants of a new covenant, not of the letter but of the Spirit; for the letter kills, but the Spirit gives life."
✓ Temptation
(Matthew 6:13 NIV) "And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from the evil one."
✓ Rejection
(Luke 17:1 NKJV) "Then He said to the disciples, “It is impossible that no offenses should come, but woe to him through whom they do come!"
✓ Discouragement
(Ecclesiastes 5:17 NLT) “Throughout their lives, they live under a cloud—frustrated, discouraged, and angry."
✓ Demonic attack
(Isaiah 54:17 NKJV) “No weapon formed against you shall prosper."
Raise A Standard
(Isaiah 59:19 KJV) So shall they fear the name of the Lord from the west, and his glory from the rising of the sun. When the enemy shall come in like a flood, the Spirit of the Lord shall lift up a standard against him.
A standard declares who we are.
A standard declares whose we are.
1. The blood of Jesus.
(Revelation 12:11 NLT) “And they have defeated him by the blood of the Lamb and by their testimony. And they did not love their lives so much that they were afraid to die."
2. The Word of God.
(2 Corinthians 10:3-5 NLT) ”We are human, but we don’t wage war as humans do. We use God’s mighty weapons, not worldly weapons, to knock down the strongholds of human reasoning and to destroy false arguments. We destroy every proud obstacle that keeps people from knowing God. We capture their rebellious thoughts and teach them to obey Christ.”
3. The prayers of believers.
(2 Chronicles 7:14 NIV) “If my people, who are called by my name, will humble themselves and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven, and I will forgive their sin and will heal their land."
