Four Reasons Not to Worry
✓ Worry is Unreasonable.
(Matthew 6:25) “Therefore I say to you, do not worry about your life, what you will eat or what you will drink; nor about your body, what you will put on. Is not life more than food and the body more than clothing?”
✓ Worry is Unnatural.
(Matthew 6:26) “Look at the birds of the air, for they neither sow nor reap nor gather into barns; yet your heavenly Father feeds them. Are you not of more value than they?”
✓ Worry is Unproductive.
(Matthew 6:27) “Which of you by worrying can add one cubit to his stature?"
✓ Worry is Unnecessary.
(Matthew 6:30) “And if God cares so wonderfully for wildflowers that are here today and thrown into the fire tomorrow, he will certainly care for you. Why do you have so little faith?”
Four Answers to Worry
1. Get to Know God.
(Matthew 6:32) “These things dominate the thoughts of unbelievers, but your heavenly Father already knows all your needs.”
Answer: Stop living in self-deception.
2. Put God First in Every Area of my Life.
(Matthew 6:31-33) “Therefore do not worry and be anxious…but seek first the Kingdom of God.”
Answer: Nothing can hold you together like God can.
3. Live One Day at a Time.
(Matthew 6:34) “Therefore do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will worry about its own things. Sufficient for the day is its own trouble.”
Answer: It’s daily bread.
4. Trust God to Take Care of my Needs.
(1 Peter 5:7) “Casting all your care upon Him, for He cares for you.”
Answer: Declare the favor of God! You are a child of the Most High God. You walk in His favor each and every day- not because of who you are, but because of whose you are!
(Philippians 4:6-7) “Be anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer and supplication, with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God; and the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus.”
