What About Stupid People?
“This Good News tells us how God makes us right in his sight. This is accomplished from start to finish by faith. As the Scriptures say, “It is through faith that a righteous person has life.”” Romans 1:17 NLT
✓ Rejects authority.
✓ Pursues selfish goals.
✓ Divides people.
✓ Follows the herd.
1. We honor authority.
“Everyone must submit to governing authorities. For all authority comes from God, and those in positions of authority have been placed there by God.” Romans 13:1 NLT
Parental — Governmental — Civil — Spiritual
2. We love all people.
“Owe nothing to anyone—except for your obligation to love one another. If you love your neighbor, you will fulfill the requirements of God’s law.” Romans 13:8 NLT
Family — Friendship — Romantic — Unconditional
3. We accept our differences.
“Accept other believers who are weak in faith, and don’t argue with them about what they think is right or wrong.” Romans 14:1 NLT
“Who are you to judge the servant of another? To his own master he stands or falls; and he will stand, for the Lord is able to make him stand.” Romans 14:4 NASB1995
We believe that all Christians regardless of history or heritage should strive in essential beliefs to find unity, in non-essential beliefs to give liberty, and in all our beliefs to have charity. — One Hope Church
“Yes, each of us will give a personal account to God. So let’s stop condemning each other. Decide instead to live in such a way that you will not cause another believer to stumble and fall.” Romans 14:12-13 NLT
4. We make every effort to live this way.
“For the kingdom of God is not a matter of eating and drinking, but of righteousness, peace and joy in the Holy Spirit, because anyone who serves Christ in this way is pleasing to God and receives human approval. Let us therefore make every effort to do what leads to peace and to mutual edification.” Romans 14:17-19 NIV
